Show Stage Is Set For Formal Dedication of State Park The stage is set, the big crowds are 'going and one of the biggest and blest dedicatory exercises attendant to the opening of any part of the great scenic wonders in the United .States, will be held at Torrey and Bicknell next Saturday and Sunday. The various committees working out a plan for the event have left nothing noth-ing undone to make the dedication of "'Wayne Wonderland" a memorable event. Amusement for all has been arranged and in addition to the formal for-mal opening of the park, at which state and church officials will be present and take part, the citizens of Wayne county have arranged a big dance and several rodeo stunts for the early arrivals Saturday. Governor Gover-nor George Dern, Congressman Don Colton, Preston G. Peterson of the state road commission, Secretary Rayburn of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, Denver and Rio Grande Railroad (officials and hundreds lof others will be among those present. The crowds from the north will be greatly augmented by the crowds from Gunnison, Salina, Richfield and all the smaller communities and it is estimated that from 1,000 to 2,000 l.vill participate in the dedication festivities. fes-tivities. In order to amuse and entertain the Saturday arrivals a splendid program pro-gram of rodeo stunts and a big dance ! have been arranged to be held at i Bicknell. At one o'clock Saturday real, honest to goodness wild west riding can be seen. Mavericks, bulls and the wildest of horses will play an important part on this program. At eight thirty in the evening and at the largest amusement and dance hall in Southern Utah a dance will be fc-iven and the music will be furnished by the famous Richfield band. The dedicatory exercises will be held at Torrey Rim Sunday. The talks by Governor Dern and others will be made brief and as much time as possible pos-sible will be allowed for the visitors to see the real wonderland. Lake and stream abound in fish and is the paradise of the sportsman. There are thousands thou-sands of attractions all different, and the visitors can see wonders that will be enjoyed and that will be awe inspiring. 1 The officials and citizens of Wayne county have not been asleep. Ample provisions have been made for the comfort of the visitors at Sunday's dedication, and if you fail to join 'the multitudes on that day it will be one time you will regret your act. |
