Show State BfeolHo.Al Encampment- The annual state encampment of the Indian War Veterans and Pioneers ofUtah and their posterity will be held in Manti in connection con-nection with the county fair on September 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and promises to be one of the greatest encampments of the state. The county block, recently purchased by. the city consisting of a complete five acre tract ideally lawried and shaded with a profusion pro-fusion of fine trees has been reserved for the campers and 'designated 'desig-nated as the official camp site and headquarters for the visitors. The veterans of whom there are over two hundred expected to attend at-tend are to be the guests not only of the encampment but of the "" county fair as well and will be permitted to go where they please without cost to either of the great events. They will be designated by proper identification badges. I Not only the veterans of Utah in her early struggles, but their sons and daughters in great numbers are going to join the great camp grounds and will mingle with each other and talk over the stirring events which made Utah and those which are now 'shaping her destiny. The camp promises to be a city within a city and to get the proper sprit of the encampment en-campment the family should be domiciled domi-ciled within the camp. Free wood, light, water and police protection will be furnished the camp city. That "witching", and romantic hour around the camp fire' under the evening shadows will be enhanoed with the camp fire song and story. A bureau of information "in connection con-nection with the official registration headquarters where ' veterans will register and receive their badges will be maintained on the camp ground. Various cities in the state and county have prepared programs suitable suit-able to the occasion and will be on hand to render them as occasion requires re-quires during forenoon and evening. The programs consist of singing, speaking, dancing, pageantry, instrumental instru-mental music, in addition to several-specia several-specia features now being arrangedj by the committees. These pi-ograms will be instructive as well as entertaining. enter-taining. The aternoon program will be held on the fair grounds under the direction direc-tion of the Fair association and consists con-sists of seven horse races each day, antomobile races, foot races, bicycle races, chariot races, team pulling matches, mounted tug-of-war, mounted mount-ed wrestling matches, bucking contests, con-tests, beauty contests, besides a score of other contests . A big program of band and instrumental instru-mental as well as vocal music is out-linad out-linad with the Fountain Green and Ephraim bands in attendance. Several prominent national and state speakers, including Governor Dern, Senator Smoot, Congressman Don B. Colton, will be here and give short addresses to the veterans and their friends. , One of the features of pleasure and satisfaction to the veterans will be the exhibit building wherein is placed the best that the county produces pro-duces in the arts, sciences and industries. indus-tries. This pleasant and unique scene will greatly contrast in the minds of the veterans the produce of the days of the Indian wars. Nothing is being left undone by "k the citizens to make the encampment a pleasant one or the veterans and their friends.
