Show ; LOCAL ITEMS i j OF INTEREST j Mrs. Joseph Willardson returned' from Sail Lake Monday evening.; while at the city she visited with friends, saw the state fair and at-1 : ended conference sessions. Mr. and M;s. Leslie Kidman were iinong those from Gunnison who at-'.endeil at-'.endeil the semi-annual conference at .-ait Lake. They also spet a few days at Ogden and returned to Gunnison Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Metcalf returned Sunday evening from Salt Lake. They motored to the city early Saturday morning and visited the state fair and Sunday were conference visitors. . A. E. Paik, president of the Gunnison Gun-nison ctake, and Mrs. Parks, were confeience visitors from this city. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Christiansen left for Salt Lake last Friday. They .-pent several days there visiting with friends, attending the opening of the I state fair and were also visitors to the L. D. S. conference. Mrs. Gwynne Lewis left hurriedly for Salt Lake last Saturday. She was called there on account of the serious illness of her neice. Mis. J. S. Peterson delightfully entertained en-tertained the Royal Neighbors at her home last Saturday afternoon. Progressive Pro-gressive Five Hundred was the diversion diver-sion and in the contest Miss J. J. Thorpe won first prize, the second going go-ing to Mrs. August Villard. Delicious refreshmentsh were served to twenty guests at five o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins left ' for Salt Lake Friday of last week. The state fair attractions and a visit with friends and relatives will hold the Duggins until the last of this week. Wilkes and Clarence Hofheins, who have been at Ely, Nevada, for the past six weeks, returned to Gunnison Sunday. Sun-day. The boys were completing a new brick school house at the famous mining camp. Joe Lewis, with one of the big companies com-panies at Dividend for several months past, is at his home in Gunnison for a rest. Mr. Lewis has had poor health and he will remain here indefinitely. in-definitely. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Erickson and daughters Violet and Goldie spent the later part of last wek at Salt Lake. While there they were visitors at the fair. |
