Show Pay Tribute To LuDeen Edwards Impressive funeral services for Miss LuDeen Edwards, one of Gunnison's popular women, was held from the Relief society hall Thursday afternoon of last week. The hall was filled to capacity by friends who had gathered to pay the last sad farewell to one who had been called, and throughout the services, under the direction of Bishop Leslie Kidman, were impressive. "Though Deepening Trials, a selection by the quartet, was the opening hymn, following which A. E. Park offered invocation. Other impressive and appropriate musical selections were a violin solo, "One Fleeting Hour," by Harold Bradley; vocal solo, "Sweet Spirit Hear My Prayer," Mrs. Emily Knighton; and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," by the quartet. Benediction Bene-diction was offered by Leo Bardsley. Parley Christiansen and Arthur Ar-thur Larson were the speakers. In the address a high tribute was paid to Miss Edwards. Her admirable ad-mirable character, her charming disposition, her honest and kindly kind-ly ways, were eulogized. Refer- ence was made to the early ill health and of the handicap the good woman met so bravely dur-ing dur-ing her long suffering. Following the services the remains were taken to the Gunnison cemetery and tenderly laid to their final resting place. A large concourse of friends gathered at the cemetery. ceme-tery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, the casket being covered with the emblems of love and respect. Twelve little girls acted as flower bearers. |
