Madsen will be pleased to know that he is fast regaining his health and is now jn the road to recovery. Mr. Madsen has been confined to his home for nore than two weeks suffering from implications. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Beck returned Sunday evening from a brief visit to Salt Lake. J. W. Jones, cashier for the Gunnison Gunni-son Valley bank, made a flying trip :o Salt Lake. "After looking after' some important banking matters he returned home Sunday morning. - John Mellor of Manti, was here Tuesday and attended the regular monthly meeting of the board of directors dir-ectors of the Gunnison Valley bank. -I- 1- LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST -I 1- Charles W. Lund, of Salt Lake, and who has stock and land interests in the valley, was here last Saturday making' an inspection of his holdings. Ernest Halverson, district manager for the Kansas City Life Insurance company, with headquarters at Provo, spent last Saturday in Gunnison. He was enroute to southern points in the interests of his company. J. M. Knighton, Mrs. Elmer Niel-son Niel-son and Miss Ncdra Nielson, motored tc Salt Lake last Saturday where they were the guests of friends for several sev-eral days. Joseph; Nielson, and son Thomas, who spent a week here visiting at the homes of Mrs. C. M. Madsen of this city, and Chas. C. Nielson of Center-field, Center-field, returned to their home at Jerome, Jer-ome, Idaho, last Saturday. Ed. Clements and son, Blaine,- of American Fork, are in the1 city this week and are the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Peterson. Mr. Clclnents is here looking after some personal business interests. Finish your shopping this week and don't forget that the Gunnison merchants merch-ants can supply all the wants for those who desire appropriate Christmas Christ-mas presents. Merrill Peterson, Darrel Ericksen, Jimmy Sanderson, Ben Pedsrson and Austin Larson, came in from Bingham Bing-ham the first of the week. The boys who have been working in the mines at Bingham, are at home to spend the holidays. W. D. Bentley, the Manti Motor man, was here Monday on a brief business bus-iness visit. Slsriff J. H. Sandierson, motoreyl from Manti Monday afternoon and was here looking after some legal matters. L. Ludvigson motored to Circleville Circle-ville Monday morning-, 'returning the j same evening. Mr. Ludvigson stated that the roads south of Richfield were in splendid condition, thus enabling en-abling travelers to "move" along with comfort and speed. Blaine Rosenvall, who has been ! absent a few weeks at northern points returned to Gunnison the first of the 1 week. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Duggins, E. M.,j Jolley, Ernest and Glenn Baxter, were travelers to Salt Lake Monday. Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf delightfully entertained at her home last Saturday Satur-day evening, complimentary to her laughter, Miss Alda Metcalf, it being the latter's fifteenth birthday anni-1 versary. Twelve guests were present and preceding the evening's enjoyment enjoy-ment a splendid dinner was served at seven o'clock. Games and dancing were the enjoyable diversions. The Metcalf home was tastefully decorated decorat-ed in pink and yellow. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Madsen, who ?pent the past several weeks in Gunnison, Gun-nison, left last Saturday foir Bingham. Bing-ham. Tom, who has had much experience exper-ience in mining, will look for employment em-ployment at the big copper camp. . Marion Madsen, who was . called here on account of the illness of his father, has returned to his studies at the Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasant. Pleas-ant. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Barnes, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, are in the city and re the guests at the home of Mr. "nd Mrs. F. A. Beck. The visitors are on a ''honeymoon" trip, having been marriecj Tuesday of 'last week. Mr. Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Barnes, foi-mer residents of the val-'ey, val-'ey, is well known here and he is renewing re-newing acquaintances and incidentally enjoying a visit with old time friends. Fred J. Fjeldsted of Ephraim, was a Gunnison visitor last Sunday. George Fisher of Manti, spent yesterday yes-terday here, looking after his farm interests. in-terests. Mrs. W. H. Westlund was hostess at a birthday anniversary party Tuesday evening, her husband being the honor guest. Twenty guests were present and enjoyed a delightful evening ev-ening at progressive "500," and the prize winners were Mrs. William Johnson and Joe Dennison.
