Show Border Battle Leaves One Dead El Paso The body of Angel Tar-rango Tar-rango was found on the 'Mexican side of the border after a pitched battle between be-tween border patrolmen and persons believed to be smugglers. A horse belonging to Jorge Carrillo, Mexican fiscal guard, was wounded. The border bor-der patrol men reported that they had been fired on from the Mexican I side of the Rio Grande river at about the same time from bohlnd them on the American side. Taking shelter behind a sand bank, the officers returned re-turned the fire in both directions. The commander of the Juarex fiscal guards and Chief of Police Carlos F. Austin of Juarez insisted no shooting had -been done from the Mexican side. |
