Show Scout Executive I Enthuses Citizens; i "Man power of today to build nd j create man power for tomorrow can j only be accomplished through the j united and persistent efforts of the j citizens in backing up the Boy j Scouts of America," Oscar Kirkham, j deputy regional executive of - the ' twelfth district, told a group of citi- j zens last Saturday, and during his : visit to the convention of the various j officers. "The boy, his influences and l surroundings and his future should j be paramount with both parents and j citizens. We -build a boy and he is j the coming man power and goes t thundering down into ages to fill his ! place for the man power for tomor-1 row. There are in the world some; 178,000 men at the head of scout movements, and some 700,000 are en-1 rolled as scouts, and it is gratifying j to know that Utah's per capita rates 'higher than any of the states. Gun- j nison Valley can be made to rank j with the best, if only man power is j applied in the proper way and the : boy scout organizations backed to I the fullest extent." j Mr. Kirkham gave a splendid mes-. sage to his listeners and at the con-: elusion of the convention meeting in : the evening the spirit of cooperation was greatly advanced. i The convention opened with a ban-! quet served at the high school.
