Show Special features For Summer School The National Summer school of , the Utah Agricultural college at Lo- gan, which opens June 13, will have two special features, according to the . recent announcement of Dr. James H. Linford, director of the summer : session. Such famous coaches as Knute Rockne, football, Forrest C. ; Allen, basketball, and C. S. Leaf,; swimming, will direct the work. The 1 local faculty will assist them. The ; department of music will conduct an i institute of school music. Guest : teachers, including Mis. Emma Lucy ; Gates Bowen, Clarence J. Hawkins, j William Spicker, Miss Eleanor Kel-ley, Kel-ley, Mrs. Walter Welti and Miss : Gwendolyn Smith, will assist the regular music faculty. Though these two features are receiving re-ceiving particular attention the ot"ti- er departments of collegiate work . are not being neglected. Professor j A. C. McLaughlin, head of the do-! uartment of history at the Univer-1 sity of Chicago, will return for his second year. Professor Henry C. Cowles, professor of botany at Chicago, Chi-cago, will return to his third National Nation-al Summer school. Professor Joseph' Peterson of Peabody Teachers' col- ' lege, will be the visiting faculty member in the department of educa- tion. Professor Anne Carroll Moore, j librarian of the children's depart- ' ment of the New York City library, will conduct courses in children's literature. lit-erature. Prof. B. H. Hibbard of Wisconsin Wis-consin will conduct courses in agricultural agri-cultural economics, Professor Mabel Wilkerson, costume design, Professor John A. Widtsoe, irrigation and agricultural ag-ricultural economics, Professor E. Laurence Palmer, nature study, and Professor Katherine V. Palmer, rural education, complete the list of visiting visit-ing faculty members who will be present the entire fhst six weeks. The special lecturers who will appear ap-pear are Professor Clayton Hamilton, Hamil-ton, Professor Edward Howard GriffE'S. Professor Snmnpl MrVvrrl Crothers and Professor Charlotte Perkins Gilman. |
