Show TO THE VOTERS AND CITIZENS OF GUNNISON I am very appreciative for the support sup-port given me during my term of office of-fice as mayor, and also in the election of Tuesday. Now that the election is over and the verdict rendered through the inherent right of citizenship citizen-ship by ballot, let us all hang out our I flag of truce and friendship and go on together working for a more prosperous, pros-perous, bigger and better city in every respect for good. The present council has had under ; consideration and investigation, three steps for improving our water system, sys-tem, and its distribution, i 1. First installing of water meters 'to regulate the water flow through the mains and to the homes. I 2. The purchase of half the spring j belongings to the Highland Canal j. company which would give the city j complete control of the springs furbishing fur-bishing water to Gunnison and her ' people. 3. Preparation for installation of a system of 8-inch pipe line other than that of wood, by a system of serial bonds to run for a period of twenty or more years. Had it not been for the crop failures fail-ures of late years, this would have been well under wry now. I intend I to, with the approval of the council, place in the budget for 1028, some j stipulated amount for placing some , meters in the city. It is to be hoped this, or similar plans or system will be worked out by the incoming city council. Wishing you every success, PA 1ILKY C H III STT A N SEN, Mayor. |
