Show She Had Her License Safe. A tall, willowy young woman at Seventh Sev-enth avenue and Thirteenth street, New York, was reciting her complaint to an officer, changing a taxi driver who had joked her car with failure to observe traffic regulations. '' The driver protested that she lied. "I'll bring a complaint against her," said the driver. "She hasn't got a license." "Yes, I have." "Well, where is it?" asked the driver. "Do I have to show it to him?" she asked the policeman. ''Show it to me," he said. Without flinching, she lifted her skirts knee high, and produced the much desired license from her stocking. |
