Show Utah Educators to Meet At Salt Lake The forces of education of the States of Utah, nearly 5.000 in membership, will hold their annual meeting in Salt "Lake City on October Oct-ober 19, 20 and 21. The slogan for the big convention is "Conservation in Education." The General sessions will be held in the Tabernacle beginning at 8 o'clock Thursday evening and will be free to the public. Professor B. Roland Lewis of the University of Utah is president of the association for 1D22 and he will preside at all general sessions. President Lewis, together with the general officers of the association, have assembled a program of rare educational merit not the least of which will be the musical numbers, consisting of the best individual and group talent of the state. Professor A. C. Lund and J. J. McClellan will furnish the music for the opening session while the Brigham Young University of Provo will supply the musical half hour on Friday and Professor Johnson's famous Agricultural Agri-cultural Glee club of Logan will appear ap-pear on Governor's Day, Saturday. The chief convention speakers from our own state will be President Lewis, and Governor Mabey, the latter appearing -on the program on Governor's Day, Saturday. Those from out of the state are Dr. Payson Smith of Boston, Commissioner of Education of Massachusetts, Dr. Charles E. Rugh, Professor of Education, Edu-cation, University of California. Dr. Rugh taught six weeks at the B. Y. U. at Provo during the past summer. The committee on proceedings and registration is making a successful suc-cessful drive for a 100 per cent membership. A special pennant j will be awarded the first district to send in a 100 per cent registration, all others who achieve 100 per cent will be given a special certificate. I The business meeting this year will take up the important matter! of deciding whether or not to cm-' ploy a full time secretary. j The teachers of the high school j and the public schools of Gunnison ; will attend the convention. Many, of them will leave for the city Sat-! urday and be in time to visit many j of the schools in Salt Lake and the i county. Among those planning on ! attending the convention from here'1 are: C.
