Show CENTERFSELD. James P. Sprunt, who Is here in the interest of the proposed new sugar factory has been very successful in his soliciting for stock thus far. The Twenty-fourth this year at Centerfield was fittingly observed by a well rendered program, which had been formally arranged by the priesthood priest-hood of tha ward and the officers of the Primary association, at 10 o'clock in the meetinghouse. A children's dance took place in the afternoon at the opera house. A series of outdoor sports afterward was immensely enjoyed. en-joyed. The oration at the forenoon was given by Brigham Jensen. There are a number of families from here who have taken to the hills for respite from the excessive heat. Rejuvenating air and daily showers of rain give the outers some real pleasure which they expect to enjoy until Saturday. Alfred Fjeldsted and family have gone by auto to visit relatives and friends in Bear River valley. Bishop Fjeldsted has just returned from an extended trip to the Uinta reservation, going by way of Spanish Fork and the Strawberry government project. The bishop states that while he saw much beautiful country coun-try and bounteous crops, nowhere on the route compared with that which came under his observation on his return trip through Sanpete. Among the number of former resi dents of this place visiting for the 24ch are Mrs. Ed Jones with her son and daughter, Miss Vida Madsen and brother, Lavar, all ni Garfield, Mrs. A. R. Anderson and two daughters of Tremonton, Idaho, Vernon Larson and sister of Salt Lake, and the Misses Miss-es Grace and Mabel Tyzac of Vernal. |
