Show ATHLETICS RUN AT DEFICIT Loss of $5,292 at Columbia Shown In Annual Report of Managei- Row-Ing Row-Ing Most Costly. Intercollegiate athletic sports were maintained at Columbia University last year at a loss of $5,292.20, according tc the annual report of the graduate, manager man-ager of athletics. Football was tha only sport which finished the season, with a credit balance, and even its profit of $S63.72 was hardly a respectable respect-able fraction of the profits of other years. Bowing was the most costly of all sports, finishing the year with a deficit of $5,GG3.79. The general receipts of the .athletic association, not Including team receipts re-ceipts were $13,702.70, while the general gen-eral disbnrsements were $18,995.28 The total financial operation of ath letics amounted to close to $45,000, Actual team disbursements were $26,-108.99, $26,-108.99, while team receipts were $16,-062.92, $16,-062.92, not Including appropriations from the association. |
