Show WELCOME Tl UTAH. Whatever may be said for or against the various acts of the legislature the House passed a resolution that lias the right ring. It is an invitation that breathes progress and IV.ir play. The resolution says: 'Whereas, the State of Utah is one of the richest in the union in natural resources, possessing the largest copper cop-per deposit in the world. "Vast areas of carnotite (radium). "Enormous deposits of aluuite (potash). (po-tash). "Largest deposit of iron in theworld "Salt beds of enormous acreage. Hydrocarbons of sulphur and gypsum. gyp-sum. "Mountains of sulphur and gypsum, "Coal deposits in character and quality that are unexcelled. "Untold treasures of wealth in agriculture, and " Whereas, in all of its history the people of this state have uniformly extended a hearty welcome to new residents, and have wisely and liberally liber-ally protected the interests of ail classes; and, "Whereas, by the conservative and sound policy of its Legislatures it has insured investors, capital and laborers labor-ers that their rights, property, and the fruits 6t their labor and invest mentwiJl.be safeguarded and protected; pro-tected; and, "Whereas, the natural resources, advantages and wealth of the state, igreat as they are and productive as they have always been, are only prospected pros-pected upon the surface and are chief - undeveloped; and, "Whereas, Utah'presents the most yiting field in the grea t west for btitabie investment, and as a place ttiwell; . I 'Now, therefore, be it resolved that th legislative assembly hereby de-cl&s de-cl&s its adherence to the policies of thttate that have so favorably dis-tinjished dis-tinjished it in the past and made possiie the progress and advantage attaied by its people; and we, its menijis, hereby forecast a continuance continu-ance the same wise, constructive and ctservative policy in the future; "Ari be it further resolved that the Stfe of Utah by and through its law-maing body, does hereby invite to it thhumble and honest laborer, who wo'd better his condition; the home-seeer who would set up his househol.goodsiu a new country to his betteylvantage; the investor of capital Wp would have sound and prolitablepvestment; all under the certain askance that their rights, liberties anWoperties will be jealously jeal-ously safe-gia-ded and held in sacred trust by the gyernrnent of the state." That resoluton is a safe creed for Utah. We cat well afford to live up to it with the nil assurance that the state will go foward and prosper.
