''The Hand of the Law," the play-put play-put on at the opera house in Center-field Center-field last Saturday was certainly a credit to our local club. The respective respec-tive parts were all well taken. Go see them when they appear again. Two lively basketball games were played in the opera house here, on Thursday night by Centerfield and Gunnison teams with a score of 19 to "0 in favor of the locals, and on Friday Fri-day when the locals lost to Manti by the score of 2" to 37. A tine baby boy was born to the wife of Roy Bardsley on March 14. Alvin Tollestrup, while out buggy riding with his best ghi last Thursday Thurs-day night met with a thrilling experience. expe-rience. When in the vicinity of J. E. liardsley's home Tollestrup was intercepted in-tercepted by a man known locally as "Frenchie," who flourished a pistol at Tollestrup and threatened to "blow his brains out," Tollestrup avers. It seems Tollestrup had the presence of mind to guide his horse into Bardsley's place and from there communicated over the phone his plight to the town marshal, who was soon on the scene and by some assistance assis-tance managed to land Tollestrup's assailant in jail. 'Frenchie" was afterward af-terward taken to the county and .vill there be given a preliminary hearing. Tollestrup has in the meantime taken to wife the girl who was in his com. panyat the time he was assaulted, viz. Miss Othera Thompson of Centerfield. We join in wishes for the success of Mr. aud Mrs. Tollestrup thru life. |
