Show Farmers' Faulty Immediately after tli close of conference con-ference Sunday afternoon, F. Allan E. Roche, state secretary of the Intor-mountaiu Intor-mountaiu Farmers' Equity spoke half hour to a large audience, outlining what the organization was doing for the protection of farmers who become affiliated with the organization. Mr. Roche told how that many of the farmers in Idaho, 3 number of them formerly from Utah have made success of the cooperative plan followed fol-lowed by the Equity. They are building build-ing elevators in which to store tha crops until a fair price instead of giving to the speculator the profits. The purpose of the organization Mr, Roche explained was not to antagon i?e the merchants but to deal on 3. fair margin of profit. Quite a number num-ber of corporations have already been formed and doing business on the Equity plan, he stated, and this lias been the means of saving to the farmers far-mers thousands of dollars by cutting down prevalent exorbitant prtces. He spoke of the corporation recently formed in the district having headquarters head-quarters at Gunnison, and advised the farmers to investigate the Equity plan of co-operation, which approaches approach-es the Rochdale, Eng., plan by sharing shar-ing part of the profits as a patronage dividend. Mr. Roche held similar meetings at Fayette and Centerfleld. |
