Announcement that . :that 7,000,000 registered men not call-. call-. ed In the first draft will be ordered up for examination immediately is expected ex-pected to follow a conference between Secretary of War Baker and Provost Marshal General Crowder. It has been definitely decided by the war department to order the examination examina-tion of the 7,000,000 men. The question of examinations is not expected to take up much time. The real problem to be dealt with is that of a second draft. This looms up as more imminent than generally expected. It has progressed pro-gressed to the point where the selection selec-tion of an actual date is under discussion. dis-cussion. The plans of the general staff for the handling of tl first draft have been completed. It is broadly hinted that some of the drafted men will receive cot more than sixteen weeks' training before they are moved to embarkation embarka-tion camps, formed into skeleton divisions divi-sions and sent to France. |
