Show Puts It Up to the Judge. One of the city Judges, who was up for re-election, made a speech in New York, and after he had touched on patriotism and the various questions of civic virtue and the keeping of a good man on the bench, he said at the close of his speech that he was ready to answer any question propounded. At this point one of 'iie members of the club arose. "Judge," began the questioner, "there's one thing that has always bothered me, and I hope you can settle It for me so that the other members of this club will see that I am right. This is it: Does or does not a straight flush beat four of a kind under any and all circumstances?" |
