Show CAPTURES HUGE BEAR i A bear weighing between 1 G0C and 2000 pomd.s Is reported to have been killed by Rube Jolley of Coyote last week. This be.tr had been terrorizing the sheep and cattle men of Wayne county coun-ty for four or rive years. He become such a nuisance that the cattle and sheep men of Wayne county offered a reward of $700 for his capture, dead or alive. His paws measured fourteen inches, and his hide almost completely covered cov-ered a 16x16 foot floor; after skinning the animal the hide was thrown over the saddle on a 1300 pound horse and both ends dragged on the ground. He measured fourteen inches between be-tween the ears and his hide weighed ; close to fifty pounds. It took thirty shots to disable the fellow and then he was Unisbed up with boulders. J. S. Passt-y came to Murysvale Monday evening on his way to Salt Lake. He had along the hide to be turned over to a taxidermist lor treatment. treat-ment. It could not be bought for $100. The editor of the Chieftain and several others accompanied Mr. Pas-sey Pas-sey to the Bullion hotel to see the size of the hide; the lobby wascleared of chairs, ' etc., and the hide w as spread. It w as sure a bear of a skin, as well as the skin of a bear. It appears that the bear came out of his own county, Wayne, and went to rooting around in Garfield county and there met his Waterloo.
