FIRST FEED FOR THE CHICKS Moistened Hard-Boiled Eggs, Johnny-cake, Johnny-cake, Stale Bread or Rolled Oats Are Recommended. The young chicks may be fed at any time after they are thirty-six to forty-eight forty-eight hours old, whether they are with a hen or in a brooder. The first feed may contain either moistened hard-boiled eggs. Johnny-cake, Johnny-cake, stale bread, oatmeal, or rolled oats, which feeds or combinations may be used with good results.
