Show Wheat Prices Issued by Department of Information Service, U. A. College. Kow that the price of wheat has been fixed at $2.20 a bushel for the best grade on the Chicago market the farmer is assured a price that he has never k'lown before. This is more than double the price that has usually prevailed even during the part of the year when the price was highest. This means that if farmers made expenses during previous years they will now make a very handsome profit. This profit will be most welcome since it will enable the farmer to "add much needed improvements, to buy a few additional livestock, and in every way to put his business on a more paying basis. There is little doubt that this high price will be a great stimulus to wheat production. With it the farmer can not afford to have many idle acres: nor can he allow weeds to grow. He should make every effort to put his entire farm into a condition of maximum maxi-mum production In addition to filling fill-ing ins own pockets he will, by increasing in-creasing his wheat production, render ren-der a distinct service to his country and her allies. |
