It was a jury trial aud the case occupied the greater part of two days, during which time the city hall was packed to the doors by spectators, specta-tors, the trial being the outcome of the now famous eaves dropping cam paigu at the drug 6tore. The defense admitted that the liquor had been sold but attempted to show that the sale was not unlawful because the sale was made upon the prescription of Dr. Otto Nielson, the, dentist. The prosecution maintained that the writing writ-ing which purported to be the prescription pre-scription was Dot valid because it was not signed by a "licensed physician" as is required by statute. And the prosecution argued further that the defendant had no right to fill prescriptions pre-scriptions because his license as pharmacist's phar-macist's assistant bad been revoked The jury's verdict was returned aftei a deliberation of about three hours aud sentence was pronoMueed Mon day morning.
