Show "Julius Caesar" Sent to Bed. At the British Authors' club banquet ban-quet in his honor, Lieut. Shackleton told an amusing story of a man who went home one night after dinner and took with him four or five others. "Come in, boys," he said, "and have a last drink." "But your wife might not like it," one of the party replied. "My wife!" was the answer; "I am Julius Caesar in my house." On entering they were received by the lady of the house with the words: "Oh, walk in, gentlemen; there is plenty of drink in the dining room. As for Julius Caesar, he is going to bed." |
