Show WIFE OF JUDGE CHERRY PASSES AWAY. It is with much regret that we have to record the unexpected death of Mrs. A. N. Cherry Intelligence of her sad demise reached friends in thiB city Monday evening from Mt Pleasant, Pleas-ant, where Mrs. Cherry had gone only a week ago for an operation. The news of ber sudden demise came as a flash over the community here aud the deepbst sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband and family. The aocount here following ia taken from the Herald-Republican of Wednesday Wed-nesday : Frienaa in Salt Lake will regret to hear of the unexpected death of Mrs. Alsred N. Cherry, wife of former Judge Cherry, who, with her family, for many years, were well-known citizeae of Salt Lake. The death occurred Monday evening even-ing at 7 :30 o'clock at Mt.. Pleasant, following a slight operation whicn resulted re-sulted in heart failure. Mrs. Cherry, who was G8 years of age, was born in Illinois, wnere she was married fifty years ago to Judge Cherry, who was prominent in political politi-cal circlea, having served many years in the state legislature. They moved with their family to Utah eighteen years ago to make their home. Mr. cherry held the position of district judge for a time. Several years ago Mr. and Mra. Cherry moved to south- em Colorado and later to Gunnison, j Utah, where the former is now 1 practicing law. j Mrs. Cherry was a devoted wife and mother, and deeply interested in club and church work. She was the j kindest of friend and neighbor, but her lovable qualities wera best known in her home and family. She leaves besides her husband, eight children : Mrs. Carmean of Ohio, Jamea W, Cherry of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Albert J. Vorse of Delta, Colo. , Mrs. Percy N. Erowne of Salt Lake, aud Howard and Ernest Cherry, The funeral will take place at Mt. Pleasant at the home of her son, Jamea W. Cherry, where it is expected expect-ed that most of her family will be present. |
