The following complimentary ; reference to Brigham appeared in a recent letter to the Lehi Hiiiitier, over the signature of "Dix." Arriving at Brigham City we : were astonished to see the many j improvements made in the last few-years. few-years. I believe there are more fine residences and buildings erected erect-ed here in the last five years than in any city in Utah except Salt Lake or Ogden. A pretty little bank, the B. C. M. I, store, electric light in the middle of the streets, and water works make Brigham ahead of most towns in Utah. We drove down to Three Mile j Creek to see our old townsman, I Geo. Davis. lie has a large farm, about six acres being tomatoes and some acres of cucumbers he is raising for the cannery' in Ogden. I guess Brigham is ahead of any city in fruit raising. Last year strawberries brought in $100,000 and other fruits in proportion. 1 saw loads of melons in Cache from here, besides peaches and apples. We were loath to leave the I beautiful town but pulled out at j 8:30 Sunday morning. |
