Show LOCAL ECHOES. Sheriff Burns visited Gunnison officially offi-cially last Monday, Her daughters and a number of friends called upon Mrs. Margaret Dullin and spent a few hours Wednesday Wed-nesday in congratulation of the 87th anniversary of her birh. Alma Larson has joined the rank of married people, Miss Rosie Hansen of Centerfield taking partnership with him in life's battle "for better or worse." Congratulations. Dr. and Mrs A. Anderson from S. L. City were visitors Wednesday a few hours with their friend Mrs. N. Gledhlll. The city council will hold its next regular session Saturday night in the council chamber at the city hall, the contractors having made extra effort to finish that portion of the building for the occasion. The room over the bank occupied by the council since the burning of the city hall on the 9th of Aug. last will now be let to a company of surveyors. A sumptuous wedding dinner was served to a large company of invited guests at a reception tendered by Mr. and Mrs. Marius Jensen of this city in compliment to the marraige of their daughter Ella to S. K. Roper in the Manti temple Wednesday. Mr. Roper returned recently from a two year mission in the northwestern states and is a young man of bright prospect. pros-pect. The bride has good educational education-al attainment. We join in wishing the new couple a profitable journey through life. - The ladies of the junior class in the M. I. association got out early , on Thursday evening and succeeded in their endeavor to detain from choir practice Mrs. Elsie K. Bartholomew, their class leader. It was a surprise on Mrs. Bartholomew, who was shown 1 a good time and given to feel the de- votion she has exercised for the class is appreciated. A set of new scenery has been installed in-stalled at the Fayette amusement hall and on Monday night the local company used it the first time, in a five act drama entitled "The Lone Tree Mine." A number visited from Gunnison, who were favorably impressed im-pressed specially pleased to admire the new scenery with its artistic drop curtain. It displays a bit of com-menable com-menable enterprise. Program forthe G. L. & C. society to be held Tuesday evening April 7, at 8 o'clock in the Presbyterian chapel: chap-el: Roll call and minutes; reading, Jean Winder; review and reading, Stoddard's lecture on Switzerland; solo, so-lo, Grace Christenson; current events, Mrs. Yepson.
