Sad Tragedy. ) , The town was thrown in a state of i excitement late Tuesday afternoon i over the news by phoue that a man had beeu found dead on the wagon road a few miles north of Fayette, the body being entangled in the wheel of his- wagon. It was afterward discovered dis-covered that the victim of the tragedy was Rolda Peackcock of Sterling who, who had passed through this city earlythat day on the way to his dry farm in TPInt lanvnn Dr. Hagan and M. Beauregard accompanied ac-companied relatives from Sterling over to the scene of the accident and brought the mangled corpse in, reaching reach-ing here at nearly twelve o'clock in the night, and after taking refreshment refresh-ment went on to Sterling. Peacock had been driving a team hitched to the bare running-gear of the wagon, and was seated on the rear hound. From annearannno Via had evidently xbeen jolted off as the wagon entered a ditch, and fell with bis head through the spokes of the nigh wheel. When found, his hands were grasped tightly to the Bpokss, and with the body over the hound the wheel became locked and the body dragged in this condition, about 400 yards as near as could be traced.
