Show CITY CJML PROCEEDINGS. Appoint Judges of Election and Pass Upon Claims. Tne city council held a special session ses-sion Friday evening last to pass upon up-on pressing matter?.. With the ex oeption of Bartholomew the full mem-berthip mem-berthip attended with Mayor Anthony Metcalf iu the chair. The following gentlemen were selected se-lected as judges for next Tuesday's election, viz. C. V '. Perkins, Leo N. GiedliiU and John A. Larsou. Evidently council were not in mood to waste time and acconiintrly ap- proved minutes of the last previous session, upon their being read without enumerating a batch of claims allowed allow-ed at that meeting. Incomplete reports from ex-Marshal Mwersen and-the poundkeeper were referred b'.ck for correction , The former lacked cac-'sary vouchers for monies expended and the latter but' no mentiou of fees. A claim from Dennis Beauregard for 10.30 was cut, down S4.50 pending pend-ing counsel as to the item being properly prop-erly a claim upon tha city. The sum of $715.80 was appropriated appropri-ated to cover claim of P. H. Scow, for plaoHug furnished the city, and $2.-50 $2.-50 to Gutiuisou Co-op, for sundriss Presenting of claims at any except sorted sessions of council came up for discussion and it was voted to clear the file in such matters at any meeting meet-ing hold for genaral business. Before coming to adjournment considerable.-talk' was had over matters v.-ith resp.?cl to preparatory details connected with the proposed bonding for waterworks. |
