Show LOCAL ECHOES. Miss Vera Swain of Monroe is the guest of Miss Susan Swain this week. President Lewis Anderson was a visitor in Gunnison Wednesday en-route en-route to Manti. Mr. and Mrs. nenry Fox of Circle-vine Circle-vine spent the 24th besides a few days in Gunnison guests at the home of Mrs. Fox's brother, Erastus Olson. X. P. Madsen of Salt Lake City has been visiting the past two weeks his daughter in this city, Mrs. John Beemus. Mr. and Mrs Alfred Newreen of Winter Quarters are visiting relatives in Gunnison. Mrs. Kewren will remain re-main for an Indefinite stay. Gunnison lost out in getting the annual an-nual encampment of the Black Hawk war veterans, which is now decided to be held in Moroni, on the 11th, 12th and i;?th of August. Mr. and Mrs. EdChildsof Gunnison have been visiting this week w ith their daughter, Mrs. Aaron Breinholt and Mrs. Charles Lund. Ephraim Enterprise. Mrs. P. M. Peterson has been selected selec-ted as president of the Royal Neighbors' Neigh-bors' Aid society, an organization formed recently by that lodge. The Royal Neighbors gave an afternoon after-noon affair at the home of Mrs. Geo. IT. Knighton, in compliment to Mrs. John A. Larson, who leaves soon to make her home in Salt Lake. Miss Susan Swain, empioved in the local office of the Southern Utah Pow-er Pow-er company will leave the first of the week for a vei!-e;irnel vacation, vi-i;- i ling Pleasant Grove. alt Lake and thence to Idaho Falls where she will spend the major part of her vacation with her sister, Mrs. Ted Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Beauergard attended the home-coming celebration celebra-tion on the 24th at Fillmore, where they formerly resided. They report having enjoyed a splendid treat in reunion with a great number of their once youthful friends who, like themselves, them-selves, had gathered there from various vari-ous parts of the state. Clarence Playmaker, a boy 15 years of age residing in this city was tried before Juvenile Judge E. I). Sorenson yesterday, on a charge of grand larceny. lar-ceny. Slaymaker has been up before the judge on a previous occasion and is known to have committed offenses on different occasions. Judge Sorenson Soren-son this time very properly committed commit-ted the boy to the state Industrial sehool at Ogden, and he was taken there this Friday morning by Probation Proba-tion Officer Nielson of Mt. Pleasant. |
