Show HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA Of Manti Gives Gunnison Enjoyable En-joyable Treat. The Manti High school orchestra proved a deoided attraction with their ooncert and dance civen at the Gun- nison cpera house last Friday night, The place was crowded and all present enjoyed immensely the excellent excel-lent renditions of each number on the program, while especial delight was fell ever the marked ability Bhown by I Prof Fred Fjeldsted as trainer of the orgenization, he being a product of j this oity as are two of the members. The hours devoted to dancing af forded the participants utmost gratification grati-fication in Buoh pleasure. The whole was refined and aa object lesson such as Gunnison needed in the musioal lino. The Young Ladles' mutual, under whose auspices the affair was presented, presen-ted, shared in the proceeds, olearicg a few dollars toward the laudable work they have in hand. Incidental to the program Principal Robineon introduced a short talk in defense of the high school cause in this state. He portrayed its advantages advan-tages and pointed to the fact that each town of importance in the state might enjoy high shool privileges to a more or less extent if sustenance wre given to the proposition for amending the state provisions as submitted, but defeated through misunderstanding, at the last general election. Mr. Robinson named over several advantages advan-tages from such a law as is proposed and expressed a hope to seo its adoption adop-tion wheu resubmitted at the next general election in this state. The speaker's remarks were well received and timely. |
