Show A ROARiKC LUNATIC. He Arousea the City Donna Fifty Cupu of Water and Snoozes on Chloroform. About 10 o'clock Tuesday night most of the north half of the City was aroused by the fearful yelling and bellowing of a strong-lunged crazy man. The poor fellow's wild and distressed dis-tressed howls were actually heard over three-quarters of a mile away. The man was cutLing-up in a remote re-mote corner of the City, yet the oilieers on duty way up town were first startled and then guided to the place by his really terrific roars. They found the unfortunate tearing tear-ing about with tin cup in hand. He looked fierce and dangerous; then pressed his clasped hands into in-to his stomach as if distressed; yelled terribly, and in a remarkably remark-ably short time gulped down fifty cupB of ditch water. The Marshal and assistants experienced ex-perienced considerable difficulty in capturing, binding and landing the man in the lunatic's cell. He woukl have awakened the entire town, had he not been quieted quiet-ed by an application of chloroform. chloro-form. Pie will be sent to the Provo asylum. The man has some relatives in the Third ward. He was crazy once before; some 15 years ago. |
