Show university of utah announces plans for banquet details retails of the annual university founders day banquet were announced monday by marvin J bertoch banquet committee chair man the event is scheduled for the un ion building ballroom on march 5 at 6 30 p in dr adam S bennion member of the council of the twelve church of jesus christ of latter day saints and president of the U alumni will extend official greetings and will act as toast toastmaster master the iivo cation will be offered by a prominent leader in the church dr henry eyring dean of the U graduate school will pay tribute from the faculty and john AT wal lace ace former mayor of salt lake city and a prominent businessman alumnus will discuss the comman ity s appraisal of U activities during the past decade earl president of the U student body then will make a pres en tation to dr ray who will be rounding out 10 years as pres ident of the state institution following dr s response dr arthur S adams will deliver the main address of the evening dr adams is president of the american council on education washington D C an annapolis graduate he holds a legion of merit medal for directing the navys navy s V 12 officer procurement program during world war 11 he is considered one of am erica s most eminent educational and civic leaders holding 22 hon degrees included in the reception line at the banquet in addition to dr and mrs will be members of the U alumni board of control dr and mrs L david hiner and dr and mrs william J burke dr hiner and dr burke are faculty members of the banquet committee among invited guests will be nat lonal ional state education religious and anc civic leaders and other alumni anc and small minds discuss people average minds discuss events great minds discuss ideas friends of the U mr bertoch said student winners of the annual ora boncal and essay contests also will be present banquet tickets for alumni faculty and students may be obtained gh the union building office at 3 per plate mr bertoch said |
