Show new regulations to be discussed by uranium operators uranium mine operators have been invited to attend meetings in green river moab and monticello to dis cuss safety orders and regulations concerning concentrations of radon gas the orders were issued recent ly by the utah state industrial corn com mission and become effective jan uary 1 1956 meetings are being arranged by the utah mining association and will win be attended by commission depre senta tives and representatives of the US public health service comm assion representatives will eipl explain the orders and regulations and will discuss means of complying with tb th em health service technicians will demonstrate equipment needed to make determinations of radon gas concentration in mines and will offer to tram train operators in the use of the th e equipment new orders and regulations go in to effect jan 1 1956 and mining men say safety standards can be attained through good normal ven ti lation issuance of safety orders was delayed by the commission in order to determine the effect on ur aniuk mining although not bequir ed to hold hearings the commission did so to be sure the orders would be reasonable and practical the mining association called the meetings to give mine operators a an n opportunity to understand the new orders and regulations thoroughly meetings will hill be held in green river monday nov 28 1 00 p in at the midland hotel moab tuesday nov 29 9 30 a in at bethany hall wednesday nov 30 9 30 am a m in the court room at the county court house |
