Show THE GOVERNOR'S PARTY FRIENDS. H AN absurdity which almost borders on the outrageous is noted in H the attitude of certain Democrats in the state who are attacking H Governor Bamberger for the mistakes made by the inefficient national M Democratic administration. 1 He has made some mistakes himself, but certainly he is not re- sponsible for meeting the exigencies of the hour when those in Wash- f ington make a break as they frequently do. The governor and the M Democratic machine in the state have enough to answer for without H being saddled with the political sins of others, and it is hardly in good M taste for the governor's enemies in his own party to try to get his an- M gora for things far remote in which he has had no hand. jH From the tenor of their remarks, it would seem possible that he lM is also responsible for the resignation of Secretary McAdoo, but we JjH feel sure that he is not. In fact our opinion of the resignation is that 1H the honorable secretary knows that he has created an abnormal credit f system in this country, and that he is riot man enough to face it with ! a Republican congress coming in. The easiest way was to get out & 4, from under, and that is what he is doing. ffi'k-j H 'jj Really we believe that Governor Bamberger had no more to do H with it than he has had to do with any of the many Washington oc-H oc-H currances that; might appear better after an explanation.
