Show NEVADA MINING DEVELOPMENTS M The Rochester Mines Company has issued its M annual report, showing a cash balance of $10,300 H in the treasury after meeting all obligations. It M is stated the company is earning good monthly M profits and that the capacity of the mill will be M more than doubled as soon as the character of M the ore in the deeper levels has been determined. H It is considered unwise to install additional mill M equipment at present, as a radical change in the H character of the ore would mean a different meth- M od of treatment. The mill is treating about 120 l tons of ore daily and large reserves are being H blocked out in the north, center and south stopes. H The south extension of the west vein continues H to develop splendidly, ore averaging $20 per ton H being broken across a width of twenty feet. M Winze 301 is going down on the cast vein to meet M 'J' .if a raise from the Friedman tunnel. Good ore Is !'i showing all the way. Drifting south of the Pitt tunnel in the Roches- P ter Merger continues to uncover ore of splendid m 1 character. The vein showa. a width of fully sixty II I feet, of which several feet is of good milling char- acter. The main ore shoot has been drifted on for more than 2C0 feet, with no indication of diminishing di-minishing in value or dimensions. Drifting south i of the Friedman tunnel is also proceeding ener- i getically. The company will soon issue a report giving details of the developments of the last few months. The old Wonder district is again displaying im great activity. The Nevada Wonder Company ,-s I - has acquired the leases held on the Jack Pot and WM' f, ' . Hercuels mines from the Atlas Leasing Company it j of San Francisco and is arranging for vigorous i work on the Jack Pot. The mines lie north and & : i1 !' west of the Nevada Wonder group. One of ex- i cellont character is being mined in the Nevada , , y j Wonder, with specimen quartz showing on the t 'i 800 level of the Extension shaft and 1,000-foot i . , level of the main shaft. The Vulture, formerly a fe J ' .1 i good producer, will be immediately reopened by H'' f the New York Ore Corporation, which also owns ! "j the Oro mine at Goldfield. jfeS .vB ; Ey is now the greatest of Nevada's mining ap' m i camps.
