Show Additional Local. Mrs. Wm. Larimer, one of the oldest residents of our neighbor across the Bear, Corinne, was in town, Thursday, and gave The Bugler the kind of a business call we like. W. W. Watkins, a quiet and unassuming un-assuming citizen of Corinne, died at that place Thursday, Nov. 26th. He was well known throughout the county, being one of the oldest settlers set-tlers in Box Elder. He was confined con-fined to the house for months preceding pre-ceding his demise. Brigham City must have a rifle team next spring. We have some good shots here and the best should organize themselves into a club that they mar have regular and systematic practice. The talk about the approaching masquerade ball has commenced in dead earnest. "Will I get an invite and what can I represent?" seems to be the prevailing question of the hour. The mouth of the big tunnel, now being excavated in Box Elder canyon, can be plainly seen from Main street, in the southern part of town, about two blocks north of Leman Johnson's place, it is difficult to find the tunnel in the canyon, as it is situated in a secluded se-cluded ravine, surrounded by a lot of bushes, on a steep hillside. It is reported that two old miners have discovered lead in a hole near Dunn's canyon, only about two miles from town. The report came from good authority, but we haven't seen jiny specimens of the alleged galena find. The benefit ball at the Second ward hall Tuesday evening in favor of John F. Merrill was largely attended. at-tended. About $38 was realized and will he sent to the gentleman in England. The school trustees of the Second ward have a notice in this issue which will be of interest to every tax-payer. They propose to purchase pur-chase a school site and erect a building. Wc should like to secure a good correspondent at Bear River City, Water works and electric lights, sure! Cheer! C. L. Christcnsen of Bear River City has almost completed his new residence. An accident to one of the carpenters delayed it several days. The Tabernacle is now comfortably comfort-ably heated with hot air. New Jersey triplets came into the world this month and were promptly named G rover Cleveland, Frances Cleveland and Ruth Cleveland. Stanley says that certain portions of Africa will always be worthless on account of the ravages of the grasshoppers. In one instance he saw a column of grasshoppers ten miles broad by thirty long marching march-ing down a valley, and when the grass was fired against them thev were thick enough to smother the flames. There arc said to be over 23,000 Indians in the United States who ! can read English. This is probably pro-bably not an exaggeration. And so desirable a result has been accomplished accom-plished by the policy of government as carried out by tho despised Indian agents. Monday afternoon, a team belonging be-longing to Wm. Evans broke loose near John Christenscn 's store and ran down Main street as fast as their slow legs would carry them. No damage done to man, beast or outfit. Our lively baker, P. J.
