THE marriage of Miss Metta Marti and William Lewis Hanson took place Monday night at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. Rosalina Marti, on Princeton avenue. The ceremony cere-mony was performed by Bishop Edward Ed-ward M. Ashton and was followed by a reception. Pink and white carnations combined with ferns decorated the house. A basket of carnations was the centerpiece for the supper table. The bride wore pink georgette crepe beaded bead-ed and carried bride roses. One of the bridesmaids, Miss Leah Marti, wore peach colored georgette crepe and the other bridesmaid, Miss Elsie Cardwell, wore pink georgette crepe. Both maids carried pink roses. Little Miss June Cardwell, wearing pink silk, was ring bearer. Pheno Schaf-fer Schaf-fer was best man. Assisting in the dining room were members of the Busy Bee club, to which the bride belongs. They were Mrs. Mary Gilbert, Miss Knudsen, Miss Ruth Vincent and Miss Minnie Woodland. The couple will be at home In the Holland apartments after February 10. MR. AND MRS. J. H. WATERS en-tertained en-tertained their card club at the Newhouse hotel Monday night. The card game.i were followed by a late supper served at one long table in the hotel cafe. A crystal basket of violets vio-lets was a centerpiece for the table. Crystal candelabra held yellow candles and a purple and gold scheme was carried out in all of the details of the entertainment. Club membei3 in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Sherwood, Mr. and Mrs. William Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. K. F. Daynes, Miss LaTrlce Belcher, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Evans, who have recently returned re-turned from Washington, were special spe-cial guests. A GROUP of young society matrons arranged an entertainment for for the convalescent wounded soldiers who have just returned from overseas, at Fort Douglas, Friday afternoon. A feature of the entertainment was the singing of Miss Grace Nelson of Kansas Kan-sas City, who is appearing on the Or-pheum Or-pheum bill in this city this week. Miss Nelson, whose soprano voice has charmed Orpheum patrons since her appearance in this city, was assisted in furnishing a program for the soldiers sol-diers by the Salt Lake Opera quintet, composed of Mrs. Norman G. Atkinson, Atkin-son, Miss Edna Dwyer, Miss Becky Almond, Fred C. Graham and P. Mel-vin Mel-vin Peterson. Following the musical program, a candy shower was given the soldier boys. The entertainment was arranged by Mrs. Lynn GiDham, Mrs. Bruce Cramer, Mrs. Harry Brown, Mrs. Clayton Smith, Mrs. Earl Coombs, Mrs. W. R. Thurston, Mrs. W. M. Le BLOND, formerly for-merly Miss Mercedes Stayner, has gone to Portland, Ore., to meet her husband, who has just been mustered out of army service at Camp Lewis. They expect to make their home in Portland. Miss Madeline McCardle entertained en-tertained Tuesday evening at her home, 352 Center street, in honor of Mrs. Le Blond. The rooms were decorated dec-orated in the national colors. Twenty guests were present and the evening was spent in cards and dancing. lVif-RS.
