Show THEY DESERVE IT- How a Coiiteuipovury Soahv the New-Iiapor New-Iiapor Swindler. This is how the Salina Press gets after that sort of newspaper parasite para-site who tries to discontinue his paper and sneak away before he has settled his account: "B. R. Far ns worth will please call at this ofiice and settle his account. ac-count. Mr. Far ns worth was one of the candidates on the Republican Republi-can ticket at the recent election. Though we supported him loyally he was beaten. The peoplo evi- dently knew him bettor tlian we and wg should bow to their superior superi-or knowledge. The account is small, but we want to introduce a little good principle into that man's system. One of the United Slate courts in the Htate of Ohio decided a few years ago that it was a felony and that a man was using the mails to commit a fraud by having the postmaster notify the publisher that his paper was not taken out when he owed the said paper a bill. The culprit was given giv-en a long term of imprisonment for his dishonesty. A man has a perfect right to stop any paper when he wants to, but he should see that his account ia square before be-fore ho tries it. We could easily lose this bill and many more, but we should make an example of somebody to stop these kind of tricks, and we might just as w ell commence on Mr. Farnsworth as anyone else." |
