"The Honeymoon Express" is the latest play from this famous house of amusement and comes here direct from Now York after an engagement en-gagement of twenty-one weeks. Standing out from a score of interesting features, is a melodramatic touch which is unusual for a musical production. This is a race between a railroad train and an automobile from the summit of a range of mountains moun-tains to a railway junction in the center of the stage. As the finale of the first act this spectacle never fails to arouse the audience to a high pitch of excitement and enthusiasm. The incident is cleverly woven into the plot of the play. The chorus is one of the prettiest ever seen in a Winter Garden production, find was selected by Ned Weyburn, who is responsible for the staging of "The Honeymoon Express" except the train effect, which is the invention of Thurston, the magician. The book and lyrics are by Joseph W. Herbert and Harold Atteridge. Incorporated in the play is an Egyptian ballet staged by Theodore Koslaff with special music. |
