Show GREAT TIRE COMBINE. Complete announcements have just been made regarding the formation of what is unquestionably unquestion-ably the largest tire company in the world. ' The new organization is composed of four of the most prominent makers of pneumatic and solid tires in the country the Continental Caoutchoue Company of New York, the G. & T. Tire Company of Indianapolis, the Hartford Rubber Rub-ber Works Company of Hartford and Morgan & Wright of Detroit. An idea of the broad basis on which the new company is formed may be gained from the statement state-ment that a conservative estimate places the company's automobile tire output alone, for the coming year, close to the three-quarters of a million mark enough to supply a tire for every car in America today and .still leave a generous supply for Europe and the rest of the world. The line will also include solid motor truck tires, vehicle tires, bicycle and motorcycle tires; in fact, tires for everything on wheels from a go-cart go-cart to a five-ton truck. Precisely the same men have been placed at the helm of the new company who have guided the affairs of the separate organizations. Three district branches have been established, one in New York for the eastern district, one in Chicago for the central district and a third in San Francisco for the western district. Through these three district offices all the business of the company will be transacted. Distribution, always one of the most serious problems for any manufacturer io solve, has been well taken care of from the start. Five factories, branches or agencies in every large city and over 4,000 distributors located in every town and village of any prominence in the country coun-try will look after this end of the business. |
