Show OPERATIC OPENING AT THE "SALT LAKE." Manager Pyper announces that he has secured secur-ed as a brilliant opening operatic attraction at the Salt Lake theatre, the new Viennese oper- Ietta, "The Spring Maid," which Now York found so fascinating its stay in that city was prolonged for two seasons. Of the little group of light operas o which the charm has been so great as n to give reason for the belief opera comique had I come to its true effectiveness and beauty once again, "The Spring Maid" is the only one still running among the music lovers of continental Europe. "The Spring Maid" is the first production by the new firm of Werba and Luescher who seem to have given the best possible as an earnest of the future. For the leading role of tho saucy Princess Bozena they have brought to this country coun-try Fraulein Mizzi Hajos, the dainty Hungarian prima donna who created the part when th6 opera was first produced in Vienna, and sang it in that city and in Berlin for more than three years. An orchestra of twenty-five will be with "The Srring Maid" The operetta will be at the Salt Lake theatre for three nights and matinee opening open-ing Thursday, September 7th. |
