Whoroas, On tho 26th day of August, 1907, a majority of tho owners of roal property In tho tract of land hereinafter herein-after described signed and filed with tho City Recorder of Salt Lake City a potltlon requesting; that said tract of land bo talcon within the limits of Salt Lake City and bo made a part of said city, and also caused an accurate map and plat of said tract of land to be made by a competent surveyor, and certified by the City Englneor, to be filed with tho said City Recorder; and Whereas, Tho above territory is contiguous con-tiguous to Salt Lako City, and no proper reason exists why It should not be made a part of said city; and "Whoroas, Tho City Council of Salt Lake City, aftor examining tho said potltion of said owners, and said plat, and having considered tho circumstances circum-stances surrounding the same at its regular meeting next following tho presentation of said petition, voted by two-thirds of all members of tho City Council in favor of said annexation, and directed tho City Attorney to pro-paro pro-paro an ordinance making and declaring declar-ing said annexation; therefore, Be it ordained by tho City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: Section 1. That tho city limits of Salt Lake City be, and the same hereby are, extended and enlarged so as to Include tho following described tract of land, to-wlt: Beginning at a point on the soutn boundary of tho present limits of Salt Lake City at tho center of tho intersection in-tersection of Tempest avenue and Fifth East stroet; thence south along the east boundary of said city limits 83 foet more or loss to tho south sldo of Tempest aVonuo; thence south along the center lino of Fifth East street 2937 foot moro or less to thd center lino of Twelfth South street; thence oast along tho center lino of Twelfth South street 792 feet more or less to the center lino of Sixth East streot; thonco north along the center line of Sixth East street 1470.8 feet more or less to the contor line of Monroe street; thence east along tho center lino of Monroo streot 792 foot more or less to a point on tho present boundary of Salt Lake City in tho center of Seventh East street; thence north 0 deg. 0G min. oast along tho present city boundary 14C9.95 foot to tho contor of tho Intersection Inter-section of Tempest avenue and Sovonth East street; thenco west along the prosont south boundary of Salt Lake City 1684 foot moro or less to the place of boginning. Section 2. Upon tho passage of this ordinance tho City Recorder of this city shall file, and ho is heroby di-roctod di-roctod to file, with tho County Recorder a copy of tho map and plat abovo mentioned, men-tioned, duly certified and acknowledged as provided in such cases, togother with a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect at 12 o'clock midnight on the 81at day of December, 1907.
