McBnery brought out a stunning array of maids and matrons ma-trons in the splendor of their fall, designs. The reception was a most elaborate affair, and was attended by about two hundred ladies. Miss McBnery will accompany Dr. and Mrs. Mc-Enery Mc-Enery to San Francisco. & & Mrs. Leslie L. Savage of Goldfield, will arrive here today for a brief visit. & S 2? Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Burrelle of New York, who are on their way home from the coast spent a day in Salt Lake the first of the week visiting old friends. The Burrelles, who are among the cleverest people in that peculiar tribe called press clippers, being the representatives of the largest bureau in the world, were variously entertained by old friends during their stay in Zion. & S & The good stork arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Young on Tuesday, leaving a little daughter to the great delight of all concerned. & Miss Mary Moore did not return to America with Mr. Newhouse, and in all probability will remain abroad during the winter which she will spend in Paris. & 1 & A delightful dinner of the week was that given giv-en by General and Mrs. J. Milton Thompson at the Country Club on Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Louis McCornick entertained at dinner preceding the skate at the Salt Palace on Tuesday night. 5 5 Arthur V. Callaghan has returned from New York after a visit of a couple of weeks, and confirms con-firms Billy Griffiths' remark that New York is still a continual slide for second base. Mr. Callaghan was with quite a nice little party in the metropolis comprised of Angus Nicholson, John Critchlow, Robert Sloan, Charlie Stanton, and Clem Schramm. Most of the others will also come home. & & & Tho start of the road shows at the Salt Lake theatre on Monday night, when Collier appears will be the signal for several dinners and theatre |
