Show I ! Social Saunterings ! M VAN COTT-NEVIN. H California claims the bride and groom for tho B next three months. B The wedding was all that was expected per- H feet in every detail with the exception of the H weather. At that, the drizzling rain seemed but H to enhance the beauty of the flower bowored B church and the ceremony. The auditorium and H altar of St. Mark's cathedral never -looked pret- H tier than when, Wednesday evening, John Nevin H and his best man, Littleton Price, stepped for- H ward.. and met the bride and her father H! at the chancel rail. The marriage was sol- H cmnized at 6:30 o'clock, Dean Benjamin Brew- H ster ofllciating. The chancel and steps leading to B the altar were banked with palms and ferns, H while the first few rows of pews were roped off H with white satin ribbons and bunches of daisies H for the closer friends of the bride and groom. H Palms, hot house flowers and Shasta daisies H formed the decorations for the main body of the H auditorium. The tall vases on the altar were H filled with white flowers. H The ceremony was completed in a very short H time, and the bridal party driven to the Van Cott K home on First South street, where a wedding sup- H per was served. Later Mr. Nevin and his bride H left on the Limited for Los Angeles. They will H tour California for three months, returning here H in the late summer. B Miss Florence Kimball and Miss Eloise Sadler H were the two bridesmaids. Both were in stun- H ning white and pink lingerie gowns, large white H hats and carried bridesmaid roses. Miss Pearl H Van Cott was maid of honor and wore a robe of H solid hand embroidery. Mrs. Van Cott was in a H handsome gown of raspberry colored silk. H Not a hitch occurred during the entire cere- B ' mony. Arthur Shepard was at tho organ. The H "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin was played as H Miss Van Cott came down the aisle of the church H on her father's arm and this was changed to the B , Godard "Berceuse" from "Jocelyn," while Dean H: Brewster read the bethrothal service and the mar- B, riage ceremony of the Episcopal church. As the H bride and groom left the church, the strains of H the eloquent Mendelssohn wedding march mingled H with the peals of wedding bells. H The church was crowded with invited guests B and some striking toilettes were very much" in H evidence. Altogether the wedding was one of H the ultra-fashionable affairs of the year.
