Show James McTernay HE was born in Ireland when the great famine was sore upon the land; he saw the distress of his countrymen, and when, while yet a boy, he came to the United States and saw the hopea and opportunities it held out to all under its flag, he needed no naturalization papers to prove his devotion to his adopted country. He came to Montana first, thence drifted here and his letters of introduction were an honest heart and a disposition dispo-sition to do honest work. So he wrought for forty years, his path all along those years was lined by generous acts; he was a true man and true friend; when a competency came to him it did not change his nature, except to broaden it. It was pitiab'e that just then his summons should come and Uiat down through months of suffering the light of his life should grow dim and Anally go out. He had hosts of friends and no enemies that we know of; and it was with deep sorrow and great tenderness that they saw, lar Sunday, the earth openjts arms and take him back In the hush of his final sleep. May that sleep be sweet. |
