Show Goodwin's Weekly, which has been printed by the Century Printing company for several years, is this week issued from the new offices of the company at 55 57-57 Postofllce Place. The new offices, composing room, press room, printing, cutting, cut-ting, stock and bindery departments oft the Century Cen-tury now occupy two entire floors at this address, a total of over 12,000 feet of 'floor space, and the owners of the company are to be congratulated on the new quarters they have secured, and the equipment they have installed The concern is one of the largest printing establishments In tne west, and has reached its present state In six vonrs. From a small beginning the growth or the business has been phenomenal, fair treatment, modern methods and the excellence of? the work turned out by the company securing for it a large clientele in Salt Lake and the inter-mountain west. With the opening of the new offices the owners, own-ers, R.'G. Sleater, W. G. Romney and J. Q. Ryan, have decided upon the purchase of a large amount of new equipment. The personality of the owners own-ers of tho Century and the men associated with them in conducting the business has been largely responsible for the rapid growth of the institution. D. J. Martin and A. F. Fleming are in charge of the business office of the company. Both are well equipped for their positions, having had years of experience in practical printing, designing and estimating. es-timating. W. C. Ashwell, foreman of tho composing com-posing room, is one of the most capable printers in the west. As important a department as the Century possesses is its press room. J. A. Forsha, head pressman for the firm, is unquestionably In the front rank of his craft. Probably no better evidence of his ability could be found than the cover of the Christmas number of Goodwin's Weekly published in December, an unusually difficult dif-ficult piece of press work. Mr. Forsha has received re-ceived a great deal of praise during the past few years for other work issued under his direction. |
