Show STOLEN AUTO IS RECOVERED sheriff john H candels Zan Zut dels idels office in this city was apprised yesterday morning of the stealing ot of a chevrolet Chev roler coupe at lucia sunday night the car belonged to the national tea importing company ot of salt lake city and was being driven by E cornia the car bore utah license no and motor no and was a 1324 1924 model while sheriff zundel and deputy cheat cheal were driving south on the state highway about a mile south of 0 this city yesterday afternoon atter noon at 5 in search ot of the stolen car it passed their on the highway but the utah numbers had bad been discarded and the car bore a kansas license no the car was occupied by two men SIe sheriff rIff zundel drove ahead to stop them and as he stopped his car other automobiles came along between him and the stolen chevrolet the driver ot of the car turned around behind the sheriffs car and went north towards this city while the sheriff was turning his car around the fellows got a good distance ahead going west on seventh south street they drove north on first west street to fifth south and turned west stopping in front ot of the A W valentine home here they abandoned the car and ran through ugh the orchards later one ot of the men the driver of the chevrolet was arrested in the rupert P olsen jot on the corner ot of second west and second south streets he gave his name as a s elmer J mccullough cCullough Al ot of kansas city he was lodged in the county jail awaiting a hearing the other fellow has not as yet been apprehended mr cornia Is in the city awaiting arrangements ot of the return of his car when he will proceed on to his home in salt lake |
