Show I This has been a week of dinners and small informal in-formal affairs at the different clubs, and the coming com-ing week promises more delightful events of the kind. The Theater will be dark, but there will be plenty doing otherwise. The events preceding the Porter-Mann wedding will be the ' principal affairs, but lots of invitations have been issued to other functions, and the outlook is good. 1! ; m For the week of November tenth there are two I very elaborate and entirely different events to an-H an-H j ticipate. I j The Porter-Mann wedding the evening of the B; M t eleventh and the Commercial Club banquet the H; m same evening. I 1 r The wedding will take place on Tuesday, the I Si If eleventh, at 6:30, and will be one of the swellest k I' events of the month. Miss Holabird of Los An-B An-B jffi I geles will be Miss Porter's maid of honor. Miss B H Jl McGuigan of Montreal, Canada, the bridesmaid, I j and the other maids will be Miss Leta MacMillan, B; ip I' Miss June Mclntyre and Miss Mary Kinney. Mr. B t i.ffi i Sam Porter will be Mr. Mann's best man, and the Bj 'H 1, ushers will be Mr. Phipps and Mr. Phelps of Los B M Angeles and Mr. Hall and Lieut. "White. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Hartenstein celebrated their china wedding on Wednesday evening. The Misses Kinney give a dinner next Thursday Thurs-day evening in honor of Miss Porter. Mr. Clarence McCornick gave an elaborate dinner din-ner at the Alta club Monday evening. Miss June Mclntyre gives a dancing party for Miss Porter Wednesday evening. Mrs. W. H. Cunningham and Miss Dern gave a beautiful luncheon for Miss Porter yesterday. Two of the most charming events of the week were the afternoon parties on Wednesday and Thursday, given by Mrs. Bird and the Misses Bird. The pretty home was beautifully decorated and about one hundred guests enjoyed the two events. Both luncheons were followed by card parties. Mr. Richard A. Keyes entertained at dinner at the Alta club Sunday evening. The hop at the post last night was a pleasant event. Mr. W. J. Lawrence gave a theater party Thursday evening, and Mrs. D. B. Hempstead entertained en-tertained the .party at supper later. Mrs. Clement gave a dinner Thursday evening, ins:. Mrs. Burns McDonald arrived yesterday and is the guest of Mrs. Clement. Mrs. D. T. Spencer entertained at an afternoon affair on Tuesday. Mrs. Edwin F. Holmes has returned. Miss Maude Thome has gone East. Miss Dern gave a luncheon for Miss Porter yesterday. Mrs. Bird entertained at a large card party on Wednesday. Miss Claudia Morris has returned to the city. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Marks, who have been visiting vis-iting Mr. and Mrs. Solon Spiro, have returned to Cincinnati. |
