The ceremony was performed by Rev. Hfi iff! i Charles E. Perkins of St. Paul's church and was II a attended by a large number of relatives and II ,i friends of the young people. Quantities of palms II m and ferns and pure white flowers transformed the 1 m ' church into a bower of beauty. The bridal party Ik i entered the church and passed down the aisle to IB W ' the strains of the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohen- Ifff M grin. The ushers walked first, Messrs. Dana T. Iff' ",L Smith, C. E. Parsons, Walter Little and Harry j. 1 1 ', Knight. Then came the maid of honor, Miss Dern, t and lastly, the bride, leaning on the arm of her II jjj' brother, Horatio Preston, of Sahda, Colo. Mr. IS (J,j Diehl and his best man met at the bridal party B 'jlj at the altar, where tlie betrothal service was read, Bl lap after which the party proceeded to the chancel, Bl W where the marriage service was performed. A delightful event in both a literary and musical mu-sical way was the Browning musicale given at the Ladies' Literary Clubhouse on Thursday evening. Mrs. David Evans entertained the Reviewers' Club on Monday afternoon. It was an open meeting meet-ing of the club and was enjoyed by about fifty friends of the members. Brilliant colored asters and nasturtiums formed the beautiful decorations at the luncheon given on Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Sara Bransford in honor of the Misses Holmes and Miss Shoup. Covers Cov-ers were laid for ten. A delightful card party of the week was that given on Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. H. N. Mayo. The prizes were won by Mrs. Curtis L. Knight, Mrs. 0. K. Lewis and Mrs. W. I. Snyder. Mrs. William Reid entertained at an enjoyable tea on Wednesday afternoon, about thirty of her friends being present. The friends of Mrs. Alma D. Katz will be much pained to learn that she is quite ill with typhoid fever. Miss Dillingham of Denver is the guest of Miss Geddes. Miss Dillingham is returning from a six weeks' visit with friends at Petaluma, Cal. |
