Show ALEXANDER COHN. A very sterling man. a most true and' useful citizen, was Alexander Cohn. He was one of the influences of good for the city through his life, the cTty is better because he lived here, his death is a distinct loss. He was a quiet, shy, unpretentious man; he not only never sought for honors or preferment, but so backward was he in asserting himself that his opinions had to be sought before he would express them. But ais judgment was mo3t sound, and his thoughts took in all that was good for his fellow-man. fellow-man. When the life of such a man Is worn out, the sorrow upon the community is unfeigned, the feeling is that probably the man in his lifetime did not know how much he was to the community, how much he was appreciated. There is great mourning in his old home, for he was greatly loved there. We hope that to his relatives there will b'e a solace In the thought that In a little way their neighbors and friends share their sorrow, and that not one reproach followed their dead to his grave. |
